Frequently Asked Questions
Hours, pricing, licensing, service area and what to have ready when you call. Questions about a specific job are answered on that service page.
Hours and availability
When We Can Get to You
What are your opening hours?
Seven days a week, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, including weekends. Most jobs in the metro are handled the same day you call. Those hours are real hours, not a claim, and they are the same in December as in June.
What happens if I call after 9:00 PM?
You reach an answering service and we call back. After hours response is limited, so the answer is sometimes that we can come out and sometimes that first thing in the morning is realistic. You will be told which one is true rather than left waiting on a maybe.
Are you closed on holidays?
No. C&R operates every day of the year within normal hours. If you are calling on a holiday and it is urgent, say so, because holiday schedules do affect how quickly a van can get across the metro.
How fast do you reply to a form submission?
Requests sent during business hours normally get a reply within about fifteen minutes. If you are actually locked out, call instead. The form is the right tool for a quote on planned work, not for an emergency where minutes matter.
Money
Pricing and Payment
How do I get a price?
Describe the job on the phone and you get a figure, not a range. For a rekey that means the number of doors. For a car key it means the year, make and model and whether any key still works. For commercial work it means the address and the door count. Estimates are free and there is no charge for asking. More on what drives locksmith pricing.
Will the price change when you arrive?
No. The figure quoted before dispatch is the figure on the invoice. The only thing that changes it is a condition you did not know about and could not have described, such as a seized cylinder or a split frame, and in that case you are told and asked before any additional work happens rather than after.
Do you charge a callout or trip fee?
A trip fee may apply past a set distance from Edmond. Where it does, the amount is stated on the phone before anyone sets off. It never appears for the first time on an invoice.
How can I pay?
Cash, check or credit card. There is no pressure toward any of them, and be wary of any locksmith who insists on cash only and will not issue an itemised invoice with a business name on it.
Do you offer account billing for businesses?
Yes. Property managers and businesses with regular work usually prefer a single monthly invoice with the addresses itemised, and routine work priced in advance so nothing needs negotiating on the day. See property management services.
Who we are
Licensing and the Business
Are you licensed, and can I check?
Yes, Oklahoma license A465149. Oklahoma regulates locksmiths through the Department of Labor, and you can verify a license or report unlicensed activity by contacting them directly. Full explanation on how Oklahoma locksmith licensing works.
Who will actually arrive at my property?
Eran, the owner. C&R is owner operated, so the person answering the phone, quoting the job and doing the work is the same person. Nothing is subcontracted to a stranger who quotes a different number on arrival. See about the business.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
No. C&R is a mobile locksmith based in Edmond and travels to the property, which is why no street address appears on this site. There is nowhere to visit and nothing needs to be removed from your door and taken anywhere.
Will you ask me for identification?
Yes, before opening any door or making any key, without exception. It is not suspicion of you specifically. It is the same standard applied to everyone, including whoever might call about your property or your vehicle next week.
Coverage
Service Area and Booking
Which areas do you cover?
Oklahoma City, Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, Piedmont, Choctaw, Bethany, Warr Acres, Nichols Hills, The Village, Jones, Luther and Guthrie. If your town is not on that list, call and ask, because the answer is sometimes yes with a trip fee attached.
Can I book a specific day and time?
Yes for planned work such as rekeys, installations and commercial jobs. Emergencies are fitted around whatever is already booked, which is why an honest arrival estimate is given rather than an optimistic one.
How much notice do you need?
For a single door, often none, and same day is normal. For a whole building, a master key system or anything needing hardware ordered in, a few days is realistic because parts have lead times. Say your deadline on the first call and you will get a straight answer about whether it is achievable.
Do you supply hardware, or can I buy my own?
Either. Hardware can be supplied as part of the job, or you can buy your own and have it fitted. If you are buying your own, send a photo of the door and the model you are considering before you purchase, because the wrong backset or bore size is the most common wasted purchase we see.
