If Someone Is Shut Inside, Call 911
A child or a pet locked in a house or a car, especially in Oklahoma summer heat, is an emergency service call and not a locksmith call. They will get there faster.
For everything else: seven days a week, 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with limited response outside those hours. We would rather say that than have you find out at midnight.
Inside business hours a lockout in the metro is normally handled the same day and often within the hour or two after you call. C&R is owner operated, so the person answering the phone is the person arriving, which is why the price you are given on the call is the price on the invoice.
Outside those hours you reach an answering service and we call back. Sometimes we can come. Sometimes the true answer is first thing in the morning. You will get whichever one is real rather than a maybe designed to stop you calling somebody else.

Three Steps, Always in This Order
We Confirm It Is Your Home
Before any tool comes out, we establish that you have the right to be there. Photo ID with the address, a bill or lease in your name, or someone on the deed confirming by phone. A locksmith who skips this for you will skip it for whoever stands at your door next.
Opened Without Damage
The aim is always to open the lock and leave it working. On most residential hardware that is achievable. Drilling is a last resort, not an opening move, and if the hardware forces it you are told before it happens along with the replacement cost.
Then the Reason It Happened
A worn key, a seized cylinder, a frame that moved in the heat or a latch that deadlocks behind you will all do this again next month. We tell you which one it was and what stops the repeat.

It Is Rarely Carelessness
Keys Left Inside
The door closed behind you with the keys on the counter. The most common and the quickest to resolve.
Key Snapped Off
A worn key finally gives out in the cylinder. The broken half comes out and the lock is checked for damage.
Lock Seized
Grit and years of weather. The key goes in and turns halfway, or turns and moves nothing at all.
Frame Moved
Oklahoma heat swells doors and shifts frames. The bolt binds against the strike and the key will not turn.
Key Lost Entirely

Four Things That Speed This Up
Address and which door
Front, back or garage, and whether it is a knob, a lever or a deadbolt. That decides what comes off the van and avoids a second trip.
Proof you live there
ID showing the address, or ID plus a bill or lease in your name. If your ID still shows an old address, having a utility bill on your phone is enough.
What the lock is doing
Key will not go in, goes in but will not turn, snapped off, or the door will not move even unlocked. Four different jobs, and knowing which changes the estimate.
Anyone or anything inside
If a child or a pet is shut in, call 911 first. Then call us if a locksmith is still needed. Do not wait on a van when emergency services can be there sooner.

Are you available 24 hours?
No, and it is better to know that now. C&R is available seven days a week from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. After hours, response is limited and you will be told plainly whether we can come out tonight or whether first thing tomorrow is the real answer.
Will my lock be damaged?
The aim is always to open it and leave it working, which is achievable on most residential hardware. Drilling is a last resort rather than a first move. Where the hardware or its condition forces it, you are told beforehand and given the replacement cost, not surprised with it afterwards.
What do I need to show you?
Photo ID with the address on it, or ID plus a utility bill or lease in your name. An old address on your license is fine if you have a bill on your phone. This is not red tape. A locksmith who opens doors without checking is a locksmith who will open yours for a stranger.
How much does a home lockout cost?

Should I rekey after being locked out?
Not if you simply left your keys inside. It is worth doing when the key is genuinely lost, when it could be linked to your address, or when the lockout followed someone tampering with the lock. See house rekeying.
My child is locked in the house. What do I do?
Call 911 immediately. Emergency services are equipped for this and will reach you faster than any locksmith, and in Oklahoma heat that difference matters a great deal.
